Rickie Fowler showcased an astounding comeback from the pressure zone at the Farmers Insurance Open last Friday. Last Thursday at the South Course had gone quite tough for him as he had to struggle in the opening-round 77 on the South Course at Torrey Pines.
His performance must have been almost a blink-and-miss because alongside, Tiger Woods finished among the top players of the leader-board. Rickie put in continuous seven birdies and went close to the 65 consolidated by Woods on the North Course at the same event. After putting up such a great performance Rickie Fowler seemed to be having high hopes that he was back in his own rhythm after the pressure-filled Thursday. When asked, this is what he said, “I felt a lot better out there today.”
From his Friday’s performance, anyone could observe the improvement in his playing particularly the puts and in other portions of the games as well. Although Rickie Fowler hit five greens in regulation (14), the number of putts went less by four in Friday if compared with Thursday. His second round required 26 putts to reach a completion.
Alongside Fowler’s group, Nick Watney too gave an impressive performance by shooting a 4-under 68. Hence Friday, the whole of North Course witnessed a wonderful group effort to achieve the 18 under par. Fowler said that he was very happy with his group’s performance and also added that this was necessary. He added. “We had a good time out there.”
Tiger Woods is back in action and Rickie Fowler thinks that this is going to act as a boost for him after the dashing shots and putts at the Torrey Pines showcased by tiger Woods although he is still behind nine shots.
