Clarke backs McIlroy at Augusta

Darren Clarke knows quite well that what it takes to become victorious in a major championship. The recently-minted European Ryder Cup leader thinks that Rory McIlroy has everything to take home a green jacket.

Recently, while speaking to BBC Radio, Clarke said that his match is ideally suited to Augusta, a high soft draw, and as they have all seen, he’s got every shot in the bag so there is no reason why he’s not going to win around there sooner rather than later.

He believes that Rory is very comfortable in his World No 1 spot this time that he was earlier. He is really a great role model, he works hard, practices hard and he engages in everything that is right. He just expects that he would keep going from strength to strength. Now he is at the place where he always wanted to be. He has got everything. And he had all these things from a very young age.

Meanwhile, it is hard to believe that it had been around a year that Rory and tennis player Caroline Wozniacki showed up at Augusta National. She even caddied for then-fiance Rory McIlroy in the Par 3 competition.

While speaking to titanbet, the tennis player told that she had a great career, she was getting married and she has a perfect family. Everything was great in her life. She was very happy. Then the tough moment came when they parted ways before the BMW PGA Championship, won by Rory. At times, things happen that you do not expect.
